Background history of Xavelec

Xavelec is based in Reading, Berkshire, and is a small business run by Xavier Walker.

Xavier’s background is in engineering, mainly in the Broadcast world where he works as a freelance solution architect and runs Xav Broadcast Ltd, parent company of Xavelec.

Over the past year, Xavier has become increasingly aware of the environment and started researching EVs and fell in love with the Tesla concept. He became the proud owner of a Tesla Model S in June 2016 and travelled through France and into Spain on long road trips thanks to the roll out of the Tesla Supercharger network. There have however been a few occasions where staying with friends or small B&Bs where Tesla Destination Charging wasn’t available and no Type 2 charger had been installed, therefore falling back on the UMC.

Realising how useful and a lifesaver the UMC can be, there were nonetheless a few instances where the socket was just too far from where the car could be parked or a different type of socket was available and this made charging a real challenge. Sharing these stories with other Tesla drivers, Xavier realised there is a real need to have flexible charging solutions whilst on the move, away from home, and the concept of the modular charging system was born.

Ordering process

All orders can be placed via our webshop.

Normally, in-stock items will be dispatched within a day or two. Items marked out of stock and available on backorder can be ordered and will be made available as soon as possible. Most of the time, we can pack and dispatch orders on the same or next day, although there are occasions where this might extend up to a week so please allow up to 14 days delivery.

We will update your order status as it progresses, emailing you with any status changes. You can also monitor the status of your order from the My Account page, providing you created an account.

Order cancellations

Should you require to cancel an order, please contact us via email so we can process the cancellation. As long as the order hasn’t shipped, you will receive a full refund.

Deliveries and collections

Orders are dispatched via DPD Next Day and you will receive a tracking number and notification on the morning of your delivery with the ability to change any details should you not be around at the scheduled one-hour delivery window.

Collections are welcome from our address – we will let you know once your order is ready.

Security and payment

Our site uses SSL for encryption ensuring all data between your computer and our servers is transferred securely. Your ordering information is held on our servers located in a secure data-centre in central London.

We do not hold any credit card information on our site. All card transactions are managed by Stripe payment gateway, and card details are transferred directly to Stripe for processing.
